Welcome students, teachers, and family. I can't believe that we are finally here! Going into high school is going to be tough and challenging but you always have to remember to keep your head up even through the toughest times. Other than keeping your head up at all times you need to also have a positive attitude and dream. There is no such thing as dreaming too big nor too small! My years at Golf have it's good parts and it's bad parts. Math was the worst part of my years at Golf and still is. I'm most positive that most of my teachers are aware of the many things I do not like to do but let me be more specific I'm talking about Mr. Carro now. (the real deal) I will sing and dance if I have to the fact that I am no genius when it comes to math. It's okay to not be a genius in math or any other subjects but you always need to use your head! "Follow your heart but take your brain with you." I have been following my heart for the past 13 years of my life and have been playing my favorite sport of all time soccer for 9 years. I plan on playing my whole life! This year we did not win the little 9 tourney(sorry Ms. Hueburger) but I am so blessed to have experienced being captain of such a unique and kind team. For soccer each pair of 8th graders got one 7th grade little sister. This whole process was meant to define the responsibility of having to watch over your team and care for them. All 7th graders are  my sisters whether I picked your name out of a hat or not but I'm sorry newsflash I love all you 7th graders the same way and I'm so excited for you to go into 8th grade! My teachers are the people that constantly made sure I was doing good so that I was able to play in my games  and I thank you all. Mr. Atwood (gotta love him) is another person I will dearly miss. Throughout my 8th grade year my name went from being "Andrea" to "Aguirre." Not to sure why this was done but I like my last name better. It's the little things you do that makes someones day or even year feel special. Well you should feel special too 8th graders we are graduating in 2 weeks. I wish you all the best future vikings and congratulations to the class of 2017.

Advice to 5th grade me

Oh goodness where do I begin? Well let's start off with wearing the same gymnastics warm up sweater I always wore. You have a closet full of all kinds of clothes! Being basic is no fun and I wish I had realized that earlier. One thing to keep in mind is to be open minded and just have fun. Another thing to keep in mind is don't let others define you as a person and always keep your small little head up even through the tough times. Another thing I'd like to bring up is just the size of the middle school in general. Don't be scared! If anything our school is pretty small with a small amount of people. Just treat others the way you want to be treated and you will do just fine. All in all there will never be times where I regret past me. The choices I did and didn't make is what made us who we are today. :)

Endings and Beginnings

How would I like to be remembered at GMS? Well for starters last year when I was in 7th grade we had won the "Little Nine Tournament." It's a tournament that happens for every sport. It was pretty cool to win especially because GMS never really got far in certain sports but now I'm in 8th grade and I plan on winning the "Little Nine Tournament" again. I'd like to be known as one of the best soccer players on the Girls Soccer Team. Girls don't get a lot of attention or respect in sports but I believe it's boys that get it all. So I'd like for that to change and have people have the same amount of respect for female athletes just as they do for male athletes.

Inspirational post :)

When I think of the word Strong I think of my mom. My parents are divorced so of course my mom is the one to take care of 3 children on her own. Food, shelter, and clothing are the things my mom provides her 3 children as well as sports like soccer. It's hard to take care of children on your own and when you see a mom work over 2 jobs is tough to even imagine all the work she puts in each individual job and at the end of the day she still has a smile on her face. My mom is someone who never shows pain or weakness and I know its hard to believe because every human being shows weakness at some point but my mom has a lot of strength.

Have a great day! :)

How not to prepare for a test!

I personally can't stay focused on one thing because I get distracted a lot. So the whole sitting down at a desk for 3 hours thing isn't my thing but not studying at all is one way you shouldn't prepare for a  test. Watching TV until you get to the lowest level of boredom while you could have been studying is another way you shouldn't prepare for a test. Or count how many fish are in the tank when you could be studying. We can all use our time wisely to study it's just we don't know how to or when to.

It's complicated

Not everyone is perfect. One time I scored an own goal. It wasn't the best feeling but it was meant to be unintentional. Not only are people not perfect in soccer but just in life. There are times where I  make mistakes in front of the class or in front of my team. It's embarrassing but when you feel the embarrassment it makes you not want to repeat that same mistake. We make mistakes and sometimes we regret them but you only live once. So yes it is complicated to be a human being you just have to learn your lesson.
